Flora “Babe” Mildred Evans, 97, of Derry, NH, formerly of Gloucester, MA, died Thursday August 16, 2012 at Pleasant Valley Nursing Care Center of Derry, after a period of declining health. She was born December 14, 1914 in Gloucester, and was a daughter of the late Joseph and Mary (Landry) Quinn. Mrs. Evans lived most of her life in the Gloucester area, and had been a resident of Derry since 1975. Mrs. Evans was a homemaker, and communicant of St. Thomas Aquinas Church in Derry. She was a member of the St. Thomas Tabernacle Society, a retired volunteer of the Senior Nutrition Program of Derry and a member of the Derry & Londonderry Senior Citizens Club. She enjoyed playing Bingo with her neighbors at Nutfield Heights of Derry.
Mrs. Evans was survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins. Flora was the final survivor of 15 brothers and sisters, and was predeceased by her husband Percy W. Evans in 1990.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, her cremated remains were interred at Forest Hill cemetery. Memorial donations may be made to: Knights of Columbus, Derry Council #3023 P.O.
