WORCESTER – Mrs. Loretta (DeCaro) Galenian died August 11th at Notre Dame Long Term Care Center.
She is survived by her son Gregory and his wife Suzanne of Ladson, SC
and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her daughter, Paula and by brothers George Decaro and Jimmy Decaro, sisters Raphaela Fusaro, Lena Roomian, Mary Fiscatorri and baby sister Rose.
She was born September 1, 1922 in Worcester a daughter of the late John and Anna (Basilla) DeCaro. Loving wife of sixty-four years to the late Paul Galenian.
A lifelong resident, Loretta attended Commerce High School. She was a loving wife, mother and sister who enjoyed being with her family.
During her life she became a Weight Watcher , a volunteer at the
Memorial Hospital gift shop, provided meals for Jeremiah's Inn, and
worked in the soup kitchen at Our Lady of Lourdes church.
The family would like to express their gratitude to Notre Dame Care Center for the care provided to our mother up until the end of her life . They treated her with love and respect over these last six years.
Her funeral will be held Thursday August 16th from FAZIO FUNERAL HOME, 9 Branch St. Worcester with a Funeral Mass at 10:00a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church in Worcester. Burial will take place in Pine Grove Cemetery, Whitinsville. Visiting hours will be at the Funeral Home, Thursday from 8:30am to 9:30am.
