Obituary

Mrs. Ketchum, 90, of Villa Franciscan, Riviera Beach, FL, formerly of Hingham, died Tuesday, August 14, 2012, at the Gardens Medical Center Hospice of Heart Failure. Since moving to Florida thirty-two years ago, she had worked at the North Palm Beach Country Club Academy for Little People, and the Grandparent program at Lincoln School with her friends from Villa Franciscan. She mostly enjoyed Miss Collins Class.

Virginia was born in Mattapan, Mass. and grew up in Hingham and graduated from Hingham High School. During World War II she worked at Hingham Ammunition Depot. Later, she was Ladies Club Champion at Rockland Golf Club several times. Also, she was a great lover of all sports.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Ernest of Higham, and her daughters, Judy and Patricia both of North Palm Beach. She is survived by her son, Ernest of Cape Cod; her daughters, Nora Chambers of St. Helena, CA, and Elizabeth Roberts of Loxahatchee. She has six grandchildren, Peter, Garth, Elyse, James, Blake and dear Michael. Virginia was one of nine children and is survived by her brother, Don.

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Saturday in Florida. A graveside committal service and burial will take place at St. Paul's Cemetery, Hingham, MA, on Tuesday August 21, 2012 at 10AM.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly suggests donations be made in Virginia's name to: St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, 200 West 20th Street, Riviera Beach, Florida 33404.
