Arthur James Taylor, 79, of Clarksville, TN, died on Monday, August 13, 2012 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was born on June 18, 1933 in Shellman, Georgia to the late George W. Taylor and Anna Mae Jordan Taylor. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Petra Taylor.
Funeral service will be held on Friday, August 17, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Pastor Matt Brown officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West in Hopkinsville, KY. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 16, 2012 from 4-7 p.m. and Friday, August 17, 2012 from 10 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
Arthur was a Retired CSM with the U.S. Army having served three tours in Vietnam and the Korean Conflict. He was very involved in DAV. He was a member of Beautiful Savior Lutheran Church.
He is survived by his wife, Ingeburg Damke Taylor of Clarksville, TN; two sons, Michael Taylor (Debbie) of Clarksville, TN and Arthur Taylor, Jr. (Teresa) of Oakhurst, NJ; brother, George Taylor of Hartford, CT; two sisters, Dorothy Taylor Rush of Hartford, CT and Mary Ann Owens of West Hartford, CT; six grandchildren; and three great grandchildren.
Military will serve as pallbearers.
