Michael J. O’Neil age 72 died peacefully Monday at his home surrounded by his loving family.
He was born in Keene, NH, where he grew up and attended schools, graduating from Keene High School, where he was class president. He later graduated from Keene State College, where he received his bachelor’s degree He later received his masters degree from Salem State College. He was a resident of Salem for over 40 years, and Hampton Beach for 25 years. He enjoyed wintering in Venice Beach, Fl
Mr. O’Neil was the Math Science Director for Salem High School, where he started in 1962 and retired in 2002.
Mike was an avid golfer and won the Keene Country Club Championship. He was a member of the Crystal Springs Golf Club for many years and was a two time club champion. He also won the New England Leftys Championship. Mike also was a stained glass craftsman and a freelance editor. He was an avid New England Sports fan and most of all Mike enjoyed spending time with his family and traveling throughout the United States.
He is survived by his wife June (Merrill) O’Neil, whom he shared 50 years of marriage on July 1, 2012.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, Aug. 15th from 4-8 PM at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. A celebration of life will be held on Thursday,at 11:30 AM at the Black Water Grill Restaurant. In lieu of flowers, the family strongly urges friends & family to make donations to the Michael J.
