
Rita M. (Biscotti) Piecuch, 69, died Sunday, August 12, 2012 at the Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of John A. Piecuch, with whom she shared 38 years of marriage.
Born in Amsterdam, NY on Aug. 15, 1942, she was the daughter of the late Martin and Angela (Canale) Biscotti. She was raised and educated in Amsterdam and was a graduate of St. Mary’s High School, Class of 1960. She then studied for one year at Albany Business College before working as an Executive Secretary for the NY State Dept. of Motor Vehicles until 1974. She and her husband resided in Averill Park and Rotterdam, New York until in 1976 they moved to Montpelier, VT, where Rita lived in her dream home.
In 1981, Rita and John moved to Topsfield, and from 1987 until 2005, Rita was employed at Masconomet Regional High School, where she made many lifelong friends with her wonderful smile and kind, giving personality. She was a loving and devoted wife and mother who was fiercely protective of her children. She enjoyed the ocean and loved spending time with her grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by three children and their spouses, Jeff and Andrea Piecuch of Walpole, Angela and Brian Graves of Holden, and Jessica and Neal Thompson of Boston, four grandchildren, Noelle, Dylan, Danny, and Abigail. Rita is also survived by her cousin, Nicky Blankenbaker.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, Aug. 16, 2012 at 10AM in St. Rose of Lima Church, Park St., Topsfield. Relatives and friends are invited. Visiting hours are Wednesday from 4-8PM in C.R. Lyons & Sons, Funeral Directors, 28 Elm St., Danvers Square.
