Geraldine Rogers, 84, of Ocilla, died Sunday, August 12, 2012 at Golden Living in Tifton.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Wednesday, August 15, at River Bend Baptist Church with the Rev. George Paulk officiating. Interment will follow in the Ocilla Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Tuesday evening at the funeral home in Ocilla.
Mrs. Rogers was born January 18, 1928 in Irwin County to the late Gus Lee & Alice Walker Sirmans. She was a homemaker and a life long resident of Irwin County. Mrs. Rogers was a 1945 graduate of Ocilla High School. An avid reader, she loved fishing, sewing, needlepoint and cooking. She was a member of River Bend Baptist Church and a loving wife, mother and grandmother.
She is survived by her daughter: Cheryl & Ken Ray of Jacksonville, Fla.; son: Mike & Marilyn Rogers of Ocilla; grand children: Allison & Rob Frerman, Andrea & Ryan Edwards, Michelle & Wade Smith, Gary Rogers, Danny & Heather Rogers and 9 great-grand children. She was preceded in death by her husband: James A. Rogers and daughter: Judy Rogers; 3 brothers: Max, Willis, Ermal and 1 sister: Jacqueline Nasworthy.
