James W. Gummo, 65, died Friday, August 10, 2012 in Providence. He was the husband of Norma (Doura) Gummo, to whom he had been married since 1999. Born in Woonsocket, he was the son of the late John and Gertrude (Chabot) Gummo.
James worked in construction as a Supervisor for Certified Power Systems until his recent retirement. He was also a member of the Italian Workingmen's Club, Woonsocket.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his stepson David Baro of CA and his stepdaughter Lisa Whitmore and her husband Shawn of Coventry, his brother Peter Gummo and his wife Marci of Saunderstown, sisters Jeanne Boissel and her husband Dennis of Woonsocket, Christine Flynn and her husband Brian of Lincoln and Rosemary Seagrave of N. Smithfield, and seven grandchildren.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, August16th at 9AM from the Fournier and Fournier Funeral Home, 463 South Main Street, Woonsocket with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10AM in Holy Family Church, South Main, Woonsocket. Burial will follow in St Jean Baptiste Cemetery, Bellingham. Calling hours are Wednesday evening, 5-8PM.
