Whitman – Leonard D. Keefe 71 died Friday August 10 after a period of failing health. He was the beloved husband of 46 years to Janice E. “Cis” (McCobb) Keefe.
Born and raised in South Boston he was the son of the late Joseph and Alice (Riley) Keefe.
After marriage he had resided in Dorchester, later moving to Whitman where he has lived for the past 33 years.
Leonard had been a longtime and proud member of the Carmen’s Union Local # 589 and had worked for over thirty years as a truck driver for the MBTA.
He enjoyed his yard and took pride in keeping his grass “green”, but he truly loved the time spent drawing in colored pencils with his cherished grandson “PJ”.
In addition to his loving wife Cis he is survived by his children Leonard Keefe of Boston and Suann “Heidi” Fasoli of Whitman, and his grandson Peter “PJ” Fasoli. He is also survived by his brothers John, Paul and Fredrick Keefe all of “Southie” and Ronald Keefe of East Bridgewater as well as many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of the late Joseph, Francis, David, and Robert Keefe and Elizabeth Belding, Alice Mullen and Irene Comerford.
His services will be held Saturday August 18 at 10:30 AM in the Blanchard Funeral Chapel (Rte. 58 @ the rotary) Whitman. Burial will follow in the Colebrook Cemetery, Whitman. Visiting hours will be held prior to the service from 9:00-10:30 AM.
