
Michael A. Pottle, 66, of East Hampstead, NH, died Thursday, August 9, 2012, in the Merrimack Valley Hospice, Haverhill, MA following a courageous battle with cancer. He was born on August 29, 1945 in Cambridge, MA, a son of the late George and Vera (Wike) Pottle.
Michael’s greatest joy in life was spending time with his family, as well as being an avid fan of the Boston Red Sox.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years, Carol (Thompson) Pottle of East Hampstead, his loving children, Sharon & David Clement of Derry, NH and Mark Pottle & Sierra Benedicto, of Randolph, MA, two grandchildren, Adam and Carolyn Clement, two brothers, Leigh Pottle of Florida and Russell Pottle of Nashville, TN, one sister, Julie P. Ellen of Walpole, MA, as well as many loving family members and friends.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a memorial service to celebrate Michael’s life will be held on Sunday August 19, 2012 at 2 pm in the Central Congregational Church, 14 Crescent Street, Derry. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Jimmy Fund, C/O Dana-Farber Cancer Institute, P.O. Box 849168, Boston, MA 02284-9168. The Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch Street, Derry is assisting the family with arrangements.
