Dartmouth – Violante R Pimentel, age 94 years, died Thursday, August 9, 2012 at home. Mrs. Pimentel was the beloved wife of the late Antonio Augusta Pimentel. Violante was the loving mother of Pedro Pimentel husband of Carmen, Donaria Martinez wife of Nercio and Vera Lucia Silveira all of Dartmouth. She was the sister of Gloria Arruda of Brazil. Violante is also survived by 7 Grandchildren and their spouses, 18 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. 6
Mrs. Pimentel was a daughter of the late Zezuina (Raposa) and Guilherme Arruda. She was born in Pilar Bretanha, St. Michael, Azores, Portugal and has lived in this area since 1968. Violante was a homemaker.
Mrs. Pimentel’s funeral will be Monday at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 9:30 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 10:30 A.M. Burial will follow at St. Johns Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Sunday evening from 5 - 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
