James David Whaley, 80, of Woodlawn, TN, died on Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at his residence. He was born on September 17, 1931 in Sevierville, Tennessee to the late James G. Whaley and Etta Freeman Whaley. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Mary L. Whaley; two brothers, Dewey Whaley and Ted Whaley; and sister, Martha Elliott.
Funeral service will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Pastor Louie Montoya officiating. Burial will be in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West in Hopkinsville, KY. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 13, 2012 from 8 a.m. until the hour of service at the funeral home.
James was a U.S. Air Force Veteran having served in Vietnam. He was an Air Transportation Supervisor for the U.S. Air Force for twenty-two years. He was also a member of Masonic Lodge 123.
He is survived by his son, William J. (Brenda) Davis of Clarksville, TN; sister, Aileen Fowler of Sevierville, TN; and two grandchildren, Ashley Riley and Corey Davis.
Military will serve as pallbearers.
