WORCESTER-Charlotte S. (Sweeney) Thompson, 88, formerly of 1050 Main Street, died Saturday, May 15th in University Commons. She leaves a brother, Mark and his wife Irene Sweeney of Lunenberg, VT, 2 sisters, Esma O’Neill of Ridgecrest, CA and Clarice Procon of Hadley, MA, a sister-in- law, Eileen Sweeney of Buena Park, CA and several nephews and nieces. A brother, John Sweeney and a sister Lora Scanlon predeceased her.
She was born in Bethel, ME the daughter of John A. and Ada B. (Shallow) Sweeney and graduated from Colbrook Academy and Keene Hospital School of Nursing, both in New Hampshire. Ms. Thompson was a registered nurse at Mass General Hospital for 15 years. She previously worked at Hartford Hospital for 15 years and Fairlawn Hospital for 12 years.
The funeral service and burial are private. O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue is directing arrangements.
