STURBRIDGE-Stephen J. Almeida, 51, of Sturbridge, died Thursday, May 13th in Harrington Memorial Hospital, Southbridge. He leaves his wife Linda J. (St. Francis) Almeida, a son, Dean J. Almeida of Sturbridge, a daughter, Caitlin M. Almeida of Sturbridge, 4 brothers, Leo S. and John W. Almeida both of Worcester, Stanley J. Almeida of Iowa and David A. Almeida of Leicester and several nephews and nieces.
He was born in Worcester the son of Manuel L. and Shirley E. (Doherty) Almeida and graduated from South High School and Quinsigamond Community College. He was an Army veteran of the Vietnam War. Mr. Almeida was a sales representative for Martignetti Company. He was a member of American Legion Post #109, enjoyed fishing and outdoor activities.
The funeral is Tuesday, May 18th from O’CONNOR BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 592 Park Avenue, Worcester with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Angels Church, 1222 Main Street, Worcester. Burial is in Worcester County Memorial Park, Paxton. Calling hours are Monday, May 17th from 5:00 until 8:00 PM in the funeral home.
