Thomas J. Feld of Denver, CO, formerly of Woburn, passed away unexpectedly on July 12, 2012 at the age of 59. He was the son of the late Bernard R. and Dorothy M. (Sullivan) Feld.
Tom was born in Cambridge and raised in Woburn. He attended St. Charles school and graduated with distinction from Matignon High School in 1971. Tom joined the US Air Force in the fall of 1971 and received his training at Lackland AF Base in TX. He was stationed at Incirlik AF Base in Turkey for sixteen months. Upon completion of that tour of duty he was stationed at Lowry AFB in CO. He was honorably discharged in 1975.
Following his discharge, Tom returned and lived in Woburn for several years and successfully pursued academic studies at Middlesex Community College. While in the service he developed a deep appreciation for the beauty of the western part of the United States and its many outdoor related activities such as camping, fishing, hiking, hunting and skiing. He returned to Colorado in the early 1980’s and enjoyed those activities for the rest of his life. He was active with veterans’ groups in several western states. He had a great interest in major league baseball and was an avid fan of the Colorado Rockies team.
He is survived by his brother, James E. Feld of Woburn. Dear friend of Katie and Chris Roach. Also survived by many cousins and extended family members.
Funeral from the McLaughlin - Dello Russo Funeral Home, 60 Pleasant St., WOBURN, Saturday, August 11th, at 8:45 a.m. followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Charles Borromeo Church, 280 Main St., Woburn, at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend and may visit with the family at the funeral home from 8 a.m. to 8:45 a.m. Services will conclude with military honors and burial at Woodbrook Cemetery, Woburn. Late U.S. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War.
