Lois L. Yost
Martinez, GA - Lois Lamborn (“Sam”) Scott was born March 19, 1926, in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania and passed to her rest August 5, 2012 in Augusta, Georgia. She was the daughter of Philip Chambers Scott and Mary Whilden. Lois received her elementary and secondary education in Kennett Square and her college education at Washington Adventist University in Maryland and Andrews University in Michigan. Lois married F. Donald Yost on July 10, 1949 and they began service for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Battle Creek, Michigan. Lois taught in Adventist schools in Michigan, Maryland, New York, California and Tennessee and was recognized as an exceptionally gifted teacher. In 1999 she and Don moved from Maryland to Augusta, Georgia. Lois leaves to mourn: her husband of 63 years, F. Donald Yost; two children, Robert Scott Yost of Palmdale, California and Patricia Lynn Reimche of Martinez, Georgia; five grandsons, David Christopher Reimche, Michael Scott Reimche, Stephen Alexander Reimche, Jonathan Colin Yost and Benjamin Foster Yost; and a brother, Philip Carlisle Scott.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 8, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. in the chapel of Thomas Poteet & Son with Rev. Rob Watkins and Pastor BJ Boles officiating. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the Salvation Army, Center of Hope, 1384 Greene Street, Augusta, GA 30901.
