Jones, Sandra Marie “Sandy” (Kiefer), 55, of PRP, passed away on Friday, August 3, 2012. She was surrounded by her family at Kindred Hospital after a lengthy illness.
She is survived by her husband, Dwayne Jones; son, Corey Jones; siblings, Jay (Terri) Kiefer, John (Kathy) Kiefer, and Susan (Eric) Leder; brother-in-law, Larry (Lucy) Jones and father-in-law, Lawrence Jones. She is also survived by her nephews, Cody (Lauren) Kiefer, Jeb Kiefer, Hunter Kiefer and Jacob Leder; nieces, Katie Kiefer, Erica Leder and Melissa Jones (Lee) Campbell; great niece and nephew, Addie and Kale Campbell. She also leaves behind cherished extended family and friends; especially her Bardstown kids.
She will be greeted in Heaven by her son, Ben Jones; parents, Mary Sue and Walter Kiefer; Mother-in-law, Rozella Jones and niece, Amber Kiefer plus many Aunts, Uncles and grandparents.
Sandy graduated from Western High School in 1974. She worked at the Brown Cancer Center as a Cancer Researcher; Then worked at the Audubon Medical Building as an Insurance Claim Agent and Medical Assistant. She enjoyed helping others in many ways but was best known for her listening skills and giving good advice. Many considered her as a “second mom” and she was proud of that title. She will be dearly missed by many people who loved her.
Funeral services will be at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Hwy, on Tuesday, August 7, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with burial in Louisville Memorial Gardens, West. Visitation will be Monday 2:00-8:00 p.m.
