Susanne S. Kling, 72, of Windham, NH died Saturday August 4, 2012 at her home surrounded by her loving family. Susanne was born in Tupper Lake, NY on April 9, 1940 a daughter of Edna (Hough) Lopez and the late Leon J. Smith. She had resided in Windham since 1977, formerly living in Colchester, VT and Albany, NY. Susanne had been employed as the activities director at the Francis Warde Center in Windham and Pleasant Valley Nursing Center in Derry, NH. She was the founder of the Shepherds Food Pantry in Windham and had taught CCD in various locations for more than 35 years. She was a communicant of St. Matthew’s Church in Windham where she was very active. Susanne was also active in the Secular Franciscan Order in Derry, NH. Susanne was a devoted wife and mother and enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of 50 years, David A. Kling of Windham, seven children, Andrew Kling and his wife Louisa of Salem, MA, Scott Kling and his wife Susanne of Merrimack, NH, Eric Kling of Burlington, VT, Colleen Goulding of Derry, Douglas Kling and his wife Erica of Windham, Nicole Kneeland of Derry, and Jonathan Kling of Denver, CO, also 15 grandchildren, Amanda Hoctor, Megan McCarthy, Julia Kling, Emma Kling, Ryan Goulding, Rachel Goulding, Ethan Kling, Quinn Kling, Olivia Kling, Brittnee Kneeland, Kyleigh Kneeland, Destinee Kneeland, Keith Kneeland II, Sean Kneeland, and Nathan Kneeland, her mother, Edna Lopez of Hudson, NH, her sister, Saundra Lopez of San Diego, CA, and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours were held Monday August 6, 2012 from 2 – 4 and 6 – 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 15 Birch St., Derry. A Liturgy of Christian Burial was celebrated on Tuesday at 10:00am at St. Matthew’s Church, Searles Rd., Windham. Following cremation, private burial was in the Cemetery on the Plain, Windham.
