Isaia V. “Izzy” Frattura, of Medford, died Thursday at the Courtyard Nursing Center. He was 88.
Isaia was born in Italy and came with his family to the United States as a young boy. He was raised in South Boston. The son of the late Alviano and Vincenzina Frattura. Izzy served in the Army during World War II. He married his wife Sarah during his military service and together they shared 66 years of marriage. An alumnus of Northeastern University, Izzy worked a s a salesman for Metropolitan Life Insurance Company. He also assisted in the operation of Hoffs Bakery in Medford. A member of the Malden Moose Lodge, Izzy was a devoted family man who enjoyed traveling and entertaining friends.
In addition to his beloved wife, Sarah (D'Amico), Izzy leaves his loving children: Michael and his wife Margaret of Woburn, Ronald and his wife Cynthia of Beverly, Vinny and his wife Donna of Medford and Mariann of Medford. He was a loving grandfather to Michael, Sarah, Elizabeth, Justin, David, Nicole Eric, Nicole and a loving great grandfather to Madeline and Michael. He was also a dear brother to Carmela, Anna and Giuseppina Frattura, Florence Ternullo the late Theresa and Joseph Frattura.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to visit with the family Monday from 4 thru 8 at the
Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford and again on Tuesday, August 7th at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in St. Clement Church, 71 Warner Street, Medford, at 10 AM. Services will conclude with burial at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
