Obituary

Ronald F. Robinson, 72, of New Bedford died Tuesday July 31, 2012 at St. Luke's Hospital after a long illness. He was the husband of Linda M. (Barros) Robinson.
Born in New Bedford, the son of the late Raymond Houtman and Gertrude (Harrison) Robinson, he lived in New Bedford for all of his life. Mr. Robinson was formerly employed as a master plumber for Plumbers & Pipefitters Union, Local #51.
He was a member of the Y.A. Club and the Cape Verdean-American Veterans Association. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Vietnam War.
Survivors include his wife; his mother-in-Law, Pauline Faria; three children, Le-Teisha "TD" Robinson, Ronnette Barros and her fiancée Jerry Davis, and Spencer Barros and his partner Jamal Davis; a sister, Roberta Lowery; five grandchildren, Dane Barros, Ronald Robinson II, Darcyle Robinson, Jaymie-lyn Robinson, and Courtney Robinson; two great-grandchildren, Ja'niyah Barros and Cameron Barros; and many nephews, nieces and Godchildren.
He was the brother of the late Melvin Harrison, Leroy Robinson, Lillian Young, Barbara Leftwich and Mary Jane Reed.
His Funeral Service will be held on Monday at 11 AM at the Saunders-Dwyer Home for Funerals, 495 Park St., New Bedford. Burial will follow in Rural Cemetery. Visiting hours Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 PM. For directions and guestbook, please visit www.saundersdwyer.com.
