Ivylyn Moorman Jernigan, age 94, of Douglas, GA passed away on Thursday, August 2, 2012, at home following an extended illness. Ms. Jernigan was born on April 3, 1918, in Douglas, GA to the late Ivy W. Moorman and Eliza Vickers Moorman.
Survivors include: her daughter, Susan (Jerry) Griffin, of Fitzgerald, GA; son, Allen (Peggy) Jernigan, of Douglas, GA; daughter in law, Lana Jernigan, of Douglas, GA; sister in law, Elizabeth Moorman, of Douglas, GA; four grandchildren, Allen Mack Jernigan, Jr., Michael Jernigan, Jerrilyn Mitchell, and Bryan Griffin; nine great grandchildren; and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded, in death by a son Charles Jernigan and granddaughter Melissa Garay.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 4 from 6-8 pm.
Funeral Service will be held on Sunday, August 5, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Sam Vernon officiating. Interment followed at Douglas City Cemetery.
