Althea Hicks, 42, of Londonderry, NH, died Saturday, July 28, 2012, in the Parkland Medical Center, Derry from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. She was born on October 6, 1969 in Methuen, MA a daughter of Leonard and Maria (Demos) Haynes. Althea was a resident of Londonderry for most of her life and had graduated from Londonderry High School, Class of 1987. She attended Hesser College and later received her Associates Degree from Southern NH University, both in Manchester. She was currently employed as a server at the Tuscan Kitchen in Salem, NH. Althea was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Bedford. She loved to work out, and enjoyed boating at the lake and gardening.
She is also survived by one daughter, Taylor K. Hicks of Londonderry, one son, Matthew J. Hicks of Londonderry, her parents, Leonard and Maria Haynes of Las Vegas, NV, two brothers, Frank Kalloniatis of Manchester and Anthony Kalloniatis of Los Angeles, CA, one sister, Andrea Haynes Caruso of Los Angeles, CA, her fiancé, Jay Nixon of Hampstead, her step-daughter, Tayla Nixon of Derry, NH, her former husband, James P. Hicks of Londonderry, and by her two nieces, Sophia Caruso and Emma Caruso.
Calling hours were held on Thursday, August 2, 2012 from 4 - 8pm in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry. Private funeral services and burial were held by the family. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to James Hicks, 4 Lane Way, Londonderry, NH 03053 to benefit the children’s college fund.
