Mrs. Elvira “Vera” G. Lasquade, 90, of Andover, MA, beloved wife of the late George F. Lasquade Sr., passed away Friday, July 27, 2012, surrounded by loved ones. She was born in Lynn, MA, daughter of late Amelia (Harvey) and Frank Morelli. Vera graduated from Lynn High School, class of 1940. Vera worked for General electric in Lynn throughout the war years, and married George in 1950. Vera and George raised their family in Saugus, then moved to Foster’s Pond in Andover in 1973. Vera worked for many years at the IRS in Andover, retiring in 1986. Vera loved to travel and spent many a winter in Florida and California. Vera was a devoted wife and mother, and family always came first. Vera loved irises and angels and could be found browsing antique and thrift shops! Vera never met a yard sale she didn’t like! She lived a long and happy life, and was loved by all who knew her.
Vera is survived by her five children, George Jr. and his wife Susan of Saugus, Carol and her husband Doug MacIntire of California, Fred of Andover, Frank and his wife Ann Marie of North Andover, and Michael and his wife Christine of Danville, NH. Vera had nine cherished grandchildren: George’s three children, Jennifer, Erin, and Kevin; Carol’s son, Matthew Burke; Frank’s three sons, Frank Jr., Tim, and David; and Michael’s two children, Logan and Chloe. Vera was also a great grandmother of five. She was also the sister of Fred Morelli of Wilmington.
Her funeral service was celebrated in the Burke-Magliozzi Funeral Home, 390 North Main Street, Andover, Wednesday, August 1, at 11 AM. Many relatives and friends were in attendance.
