Obituary

Sister Marguerite Rousseau, pm, age 77, a Sister of the Presentation of Mary, died July 26, 2012 at Mount Carmel Nursing Home, Manchester.
The daughter of Antonio and Marie-Anne (Labrie) Rousseau, she was born in Berlin, NH on September 18, 1934. She entered the Congregation of the Sisters of the Presentation of Mary in Hudson on July 30, 1952, pronounced her First Vows on February 2, 1955 and Final Vows on August 15, 1960.
Sister Marguerite received her Bachelor of Education from Rivier University in Nashua, and a Master’s Degree in Theology from St. Michael’s College in Winooski, VT. She continued her studies in Religious Education at both St. Joseph Colleges’ in Maine and Connecticut and received her Certificate in Christian Ministry from the Ministry Institute of Notre Dame College in Manchester.
During her career as an educator, Sister Marguerite served on the faculty of Catholic Junior High Schools in Rhode Island as a teacher and principal. She also served as a Director of Religious Education in Rhode Island for 15 years, where she ministered to adults and students K-High School.
She served as Assistant Provincial in the Manchester Province for 12 years and as a Member of the Board of Trustees of Rivier University for 14 years. She also served as a Trustee for the Sisters of Mercy, Warde Center in Windham, NH. She was presently Director of the Presentation of Mary Development Office in Manchester.
She is survived by a brother, Joseph Rousseau of Lancaster, PA and cousins.
The funeral Mass was celebrated on Monday, July 30, 2012 in the Resurrection Chapel of St. Marie Residence, 495 Mammoth Road, Manchester. Burial followed in the Presentation of Mary Cemetery, Hudson.
