Obituary

GLOUCESTER: Keith R. “Khaki” Rose, 54, died Wednesday, July 25, 2012 in the Addison Gilbert Hospital following a courageous battle with Type I Diabetes and cancer. He was the husband of Laura C. (Noble) Rose.
Born in Gloucester on June 28, 1958, he was the son of Mary (Lucido) Rose McCoy and the late Richard Rose. A lifelong resident of Gloucester, Keith was a graduate of Manchester High School class of 1976.
Keith was a self-employed carpenter on Cape Ann for many years. A U.S. Army veteran, he was a life member and currently serving as the Commander of the AMVETS Post #32 of Gloucester and the District 8 Finance Officer. He loved music and was a very passionate drummer.
In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by four children, Matthew Biggar, Amanda Stanley and her husband, Edward Stanley, Keisha Rose and Jared Rose; his stepfather, Craige McCoy; three grandchildren, Eve Kirvan Stanley, Ryan Biggar and Nathan Stanley; three sisters, Kim Rose, Melanie Matz and Michelle Strong; a brother, Mark McCoy and several stepbrothers, a stepsister, many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and many dear friends, including Kevin “Doc” Burgess, Victor Anido, Brien Riley, Ronald Santos and Denny Gannett. He was also predeceased by his brother, Kevin Rose, maternal grandparents, Gasper and Rose Lucido and paternal grandparents, Frank “Khaki” and Eleanor Rose.
His funeral service will be held on Thursday, in the Beechbrook Cemetery, W. Gloucester at 9:30 a.m. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday in the Pike-Grondin Funeral Home, 61 Middle St., Gloucester from 4 – 8 p.m. Relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the AMVETS Post #32, 14 Prospect St., Gloucester, MA 01930.
