JACKSON, Lois M. (Gilchrist), of Winthrop, passed away at the East Pointe Nursing Home in Chelsea on July 26, 2012. She was 92. She was the beloved wife of the late M. Preston “Pete” Jackson. Born in Revere, she was the daughter of the late Horace S. and Ida M. (Henderson) Gilchrist. Devoted mother of Marsha Jackson of Winthrop, Gail Soares and her late husband John of Billerica, and Laurie Jackson and David VanWart of Winthrop. Adored grandmother David P. Jackson and his wife Dawn of RI and the late Eric J. MacDonald. Dear Great-grandmother of Tori, Chris, Tyler, and Chase Jackson and Alana Graham-Bell. Dear sister of the late Ross Gilchrist and his late wife Ruth, the late Norman Gilchrist and his late wife Louise, the late Alan Gilchrist and his late wife Ruth, and the late John Stuart Gilchrist. Sister-in-law of Janet Gilchrist of Merrimack, MA. Visiting hours will be held in the Maurice W. Kirby Funeral Home 210 Winthrop St. WINTHROP, on Sun, July 29, from 2-5:30pm. A Funeral Service will be held in the funeral home on Sun, July 29 at 5:30pm. Relatives and friends are invited. Interment will be in the Mass. National Cemetery in Bourne on Mon. at 11am. Lois was a member of the former First Baptist and Union Congregational Churches of Winthrop. She was a Deacon and a lifelong choir member. She was a member of the Union Congregational Woman’s Assn., the Winthrop Chorale and the Winthrop Playmakers.
