Obituary

Stanley P. Harackiewicz, 94, of Methuen, died peacefully Thursday morning, July 26, 2012 at Autumn Village Nursing Home in Worcester.

Stanley, son of the late Marcin and Pauliha (Masiewicz) Harackiewicz, was born in Winchendon on January 31, 1918 and was educated in local schools. He graduated from Murdock High School in Winchendon, class of 1936 and lived in Worcester for many years before moving to Methuen. Stanley worked for the Worcester Telegram and Gazette and later the Boston Globe. He was a former member of the Sterling Rod and Gun Club and the Methuen Senior Citizens and was an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed many outdoor activities with friends. He proudly served his country during World War II in the United States Army.

He is survived by two sons, David Harackiewicz and his former wife Teresa of Oxford and Stanley Harackiewicz and his wife Barbara of Sterling; one brother, Vincent Harackiewicz of Needham and one sister, Helen Rucinski and her husband Emil of West Springfield, 3 grandchildren and several nephews and nieces. Stanley was anxiously awaiting the birth of his first great grandchild in September. He was predeceased by a sister, Lucy Parrott and a brother Joseph Harackiewicz as well as his long time friend, Rita Petrosino with whom he enjoyed dancing.

Family and friends are invited to attend a graveside service in Calvary Cemetery, Glenallan St., Winchendon on Monday, July 30, 2012 at 1 PM. Rev. Francis A. Roberge, Pastor of St. Vincent DePaul Church in Baldwinville will officiate. There are no visiting hours.
