Obituary

Leonard L. Thornhill, 91, of Franklin died July 24 in the Kindred Transitional Care and Rehabilitation – Franklin. He was the husband of Helen (Porter) Thornhill.
Born in Plymouth, February 3,1921, the son of the late James and Mary (Murray) Thornhill, Mr. Thornhill had lived in Holliston for a short while prior to moving to Franklin where he lived for most of his life.
Mr. Thornhill had been a machinist at the Foxboro Company for 28 years.
After working at the Foxboro Company he worked for 30 years as a bus driver for King Phillip Regional High School in Wrentham.
Mr. Thornhill served in the Army during World War II, attaining the rank of Private First Class. He saw action in Central Europe and had been a Prisoner of War.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, James Thornhill of Woonsocket, Rhode Island and Barbara Thornhill of Medway. He was the father of the late Robert and Beverly Thornhill.
He was the brother of the late Mildred Gardner, Louise Doyle, Irene Cook, Florence Lanagan, Walter, Edward, Clifford, James, and Robert Thornhill.
He is also survived by 9 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great-grandchildren.
His funeral service will be private.
Burial will be in Union Street Cemetery, Franklin.
