HAGA, Katherine (Manter) 64, died at home in Needham after a 15 year battle with breast cancer. Beloved wife of Gus Haga for 38 years.
Loving mother of Jesse R. Haga, mother-in-law to Fernanda G. Haga and grandmother of Giovanni G. Haga who all currently reside in Jundiai, Brazil.
Sister of Louise Allen of Bangor, ME. Daughter of the late Harold and Beatrice Manter who had owned and operated Manter's Pharmacy in Needham Heights.
Katherine was a graduate of Katherine Gibbs in Boston and Framingham State University. She was a secretary, a free lance magazine and newspaper writer and a job discrimination investigator. She was past member of the Elmwood Chapel in Wellesley and current member of the Cape Cod Presbyterian Church in West Barnstable. A Memorial Service will be held at the Elmwood Chapel, 42 Elmwood Rd., Wellesley, Saturday, July 28 at 12 noon. Relatives and friends kindly invited.
