Obituary

Mylissa Smith Hall, 77, of Fitzgerald, died Saturday, July 21, 2012 at the Fitzgerald Nursing Home.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM, Tuesday, July 24, 2012 at the Big Creek Baptist Church in Irwin County with Rev. Wayne McCrimmon and Rev. Ed Reeves officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5 to 9 Monday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.

Mrs. Hall was born February 18, 1935, in Fitzgerald, Georgia, to the late Charlie and Sally Mae Bostick Smith. She and her late husband Samuel Clyde Hall moved back to Fitzgerald, from the Atlanta area in 1980. While in Atlanta, she worked as a dietician at Lakeside High School. She was a former member of the Rehoboth Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and was a GA’s Leader. Mrs. Hall lived at the Meadow Run Apartments, where she was active in their gardening and cooking activities. She formerly worked in the Dietary Department at Dorminy Medical Center as well. She was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church.

She is survived by her son: Donnie Hall of Broxton; daughters: Connie (Edward) Moore of Powder Springs and Kimberly (Gary, Sr.) Ford of Fitzgerald; eleven grandchildren; and ten great grandchildren; special friend: Darrell Gillespie. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter: Elaine Williams, 2 brothers and 3 sisters.
