Marie Helecta Lindquist, 91, of Londonderry, NH, died Thursday July 19, 2012, in the Christian Science Benevolent Association in Chestnut Hill, MA. She was born in Atlanta, GA on September 10, 1920, the daughter of Joseph Reed and Cora Benjamin. She had been a resident of Londonderry since 1984, formerly living in Bedford, NH.
She is survived by a son, Al (Nickie) Lindquist, Jr, of Londonderry, a daughter Evelyn (Jim) Van Horn of Grain Valley, Missouri, 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren as well as longtime companion Diane Dyer. She was predeceased by her husband, Alfred E. Lindquist, Sr. in 1983.
Marie was a member of First Church of Christ Scientist in Manchester, NH, where she served as first and second reader, served in the reading room and was chairperson for the music department. She enjoyed playing bridge, traveling and was proud to have taken a trip cross country when she was in her late 70’s.
Calling hours were held on Wednesday July 25, 2012 from 12:30 to 2:00pm at Peabody funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry followed by a memorial service at 2:00pm in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the NHSPCA 104 Portsmouth Avenue, Stratham, NH 03885.
