Doris M. (Murphy) West, 104, of Salem, NH died Wednesday, July 18th at Salemhaven in Salem.
Doris was born in Lynn, MA the daughter of the late Anna (March) and Wilbert Murphy. She was a homemaker and had previously lived in Florida for 40 years.
Doris enjoyed golf, bridge, & Yahtzee. She also enjoyed gardening, sewing, and playing the piano. She volunteered for numerous organizations and was active with the Rainbow Girls.
The family would like to thank the 3rd floor staff at Salemhaven and also Beacon Hospice.
Doris was predeceased by her husband Ralph West and her sister Ella Brown.
She is survived by her son Robert West and his wife Shirley of Salem, NH
Her daughter Marilyn Yeager and her husband Robert of Wheeling, W. VA
5 grandchildren: Bob West, Jr. and wife Deb of No. Salem, NH, Sharon Perry of Kingston, Maureen West of Seminole, FL, David Yeager of Wheeling, w. VA and Lori Palmer and husband Todd of Pittsburg, PA
8 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandson.
The family would like to thank the 3rd floor staff at Salemhaven and the staff of Beacon Hospice for the wonderful care that was given to Doris.
Funeral services will be held in Florida. Local arrangements are by the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH.
