TEWKSBURY: Barbara Anne (Bateman) Johnston, age 69, a longtime Tewksbury resident, died Monday, May 10, 2004 at the Winchester Hospital.
She was the wife of Richard L. Johnston with whom she celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on December 27, 2003.
Born in Everett on February 19, 1935, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Palma (Flammia) Bateman.
Mrs. Johnston was raised in Everett. She attended Everett schools, graduating from Everett High School in 1953.
Mrs. Johnston resided in Tewksbury for the past 33 years. She previously lived in Burlington.
Mrs. Johnston devoted her adult life to caring for her husband, children and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by 4 daughters; Linda A. Oliveria and her husband Neil of Townsend, Donna J. Perry and her husband Frank of Litchfield, NH, Joanne C. Johnston and her dear friend Artie Petropoulos of Lowell and Cheryl A. Reese and her husband James of Tewksbury; 1 son; Lawrence W. Johnston and his wife Mary Ellen (Farley) of Holiday, FL; 1 sister; Evelyn Hoenig of Wilmington; her aunt; Evelyn Bateman of Medford; 16 grandchildren; also 3 great grandchildren.
