Obituary


WEBSTER – Ray went home Thursday after a long battle with cancer. He leaves his wife of 31 years Robin E. Zuidema Hicks; two sons, Joshua M. Hicks at home and Christopher M. Clark of Dudley; one granddaughter Kristin and a grandson Jesse; he also leaves 2 very special and dear friends Abby Smith and Pete Forsberg. “I leave my life and my world. But I will always be in and with my life. Always and forever.” He leaves two brothers Roger of Dayville, CT and Stanley of Southbridge.
He was born in Millbury, the son of Raymond F. and Beatrice F. (Jacques) Hicks, Sr. He was predeceased by a son Michael P. Hicks and a daughter Carrie M. Hicks. He was a member of the 241st combat engineering battalion from 1966 to 1972. He taught catechism at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. He was also a past member of the Millbury Fire Department.
The funeral will be held Monday, July 23, from the Sitkowski & Malboeuf Funeral Home, 340 School St., with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Sacred Heart of Jesus Church, 16 East Main Street. Burial will be in Central Cemetery, Millbury. Calling hours will be from 6:00 to 8:00 PM Sunday, July 22, in the funeral home.
