Obituary

Marjorie McKee Wilson [Mickie] passed away peacefully on April 11, 2012. She was born in Baltimore, MD on May 13, 1916 to the late Robert and Marjorie McKee. After graduating from Franklin High School, Reisterstown, MD ['33]Marjorie attended Hood College in Frederick, MD ['37]. In 1939 she married Donald H Wilson and spent more than 50 years in Glyndon MD rearing three daughters; Sally, Nancy and Midge.
Marjorie was a long time member of the Glyndon United Methodist Church where she taught nursery aged Sunday school for more than 20 years. She also sang in the choir and was an active member of the Glyndon United Methodist Women.
Volunteering was a way of life for Marjorie. She spent many years volunteering in her girl's schools, especially in the PTA. The Wilson family hosted three exchange student "daughters" from Chile, Japan and Austria through the American Field Service program, an organization which they cared about dearly. Each of these 'girls' are considered members of the family and stayed in touch with letters and family photos until Marjorie's final days. This made her very happy. Marjorie loved living in Glyndon and enjoyed participating in the Glyndon Historic Association. The Reisterstown Crisis Center,Girl Scouts and the Baltimore Board of Child Care were also special volunteer interests of hers.
Marjorie worked tirelessly in the gardens surrounding her home. All three daughters happily chose to have their wedding receptions at home because of the beautiful gardens and paths she created.
Another passion was collecting and documenting family genealogy for both the McKee and Wilson families. She leaves volumes of family history and photos for her family to enjoy.
Marjorie is predeceased by her husband of 60 years, Donald H Wilson and a sister, Frances Blair.
