Obituary

Alice M. (Mailhot) Levasseur, loving wife of Francis A. Levasseur of Salem, NH, died on July 18, 2012. Alice was born February 19, 1923 in Bedford, NH, and formerly resided in Manchester, NH, Lawrence, MA, and Haverhill, MA. Alice worked at Carla Shoe, Malden Mills, Western Electric, and retired as a cashier for Servomation at Gillette in Andover, MA. Alice loved to crochet and make quilts. She was a talented seamstress, and enjoyed craft-making. She was an avid gardener, and loved to work outside with her flowers and in her yard. She loved nice things, was a tireless and enthusiastic shopper, always followed the latest fashions, and loved to dress in the latest styles. She had a loving heart, and was a beautiful spirit in the world, always having a positive attitude toward life’s many challenges. She always gave her best in all things. Besides her loving husband Francis, to whom she was married for seventy years, she leaves her three loving and devoted daughters: Janet Levasseur of Weymouth, MA, Diane Leal and her husband Helio Leal of Salem, NH, and Denise Casey of Springfield, CO.; four grandchildren: Amy Leal, Steven Leal, Tara Gaughan, all of Salem, NH, and Adam Anthony of Kingman, AZ. Five great-grandchildren: Hannah Lafreniere, Brigette Gaughan, Brody Gaughan, Ella Anthony, and Dylan Anthony; her sister Jeanette Laquerre of Boothbay, ME, her brother Andrew Mailhot of Manchester, NH, several aunts, cousins, and nieces in New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Maine, Connecticut, and Canada. Alice was predeceased by her parents, Lucien and Juliette (Chandonette) Mailhot; four brothers, Albert, Arthur, Herve, and Wilfred Mailhot; and two sisters, Lucienne Saindon, and Dora Hoff.
