Seth Vieara Jones, 26, of 1604 East Side River Road, Dummer, NH, passed away on Tuesday July 17, 2012 at the Beth Israel Deaconess Hospital in Boston as a result of injuries received in a motor vehicle accident. He was born in Oak Bluffs, MA on June 1, 1986 the son of Tom and Peggy (Vieara) Jones. Seth graduated from Berlin High with the Class of 2004 and served with the US Marines 169 Vipers from 2004-2011, having served 2 tours in Iraq and 1 in Afghanistan. He was employed as a welder at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and was a member of St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish. Seth was an avid baseball player thru his youth and during high school and was a passionate fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.
Members of the family include his parents Tom and Peggy Jones of Dummer, NH; brothers Joshua, Jacob and Alec Jones of Dummer, NH; grandparents Kay Vieara of Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada and Bill and Lee Jones of Richmond, VA and Martha’s Vineyard, MA; great-grandmother Margaret MacLellan who is 95; many aunts, uncles, cousins, Viper family, countless bros and lifelong friends.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday July 23, 2012 at 10 AM at St. Anne Church of Good Shepherd Parish, 345 Pleasant St., Berlin, NH. Interment will be in the Willis Cemetery in Dummer, NH. Relatives and friends may call at the Bryant Funeral Home, 180 Hillside Ave., Berlin, NH on Sunday afternoon and evening from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Friends are asked to go directly to church on Monday morning.
