Margie Greathouse Dockery, age 89, of Leitchfield, KY, passed away Saturday, (July 14, 2012) at the Twin Lakes Regional Medical Center in Leitchfield, Kentucky
She was born on March 3, 1923, in Grayson Co, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Leck and Myrtle Purcell Davis.
She was a housewife and homemaker and was a member of the Faith Chapel General Baptist Church in Louisville, KY.
She is survived by her husband, Clayton Dockery, one daughter, Ruth Greathouse Lindsey of Shepherdsville, KY, four step-children, Kathy Ferguson, Marilyn Smith, Pauletta Howard and Lesa Schoenbachler all of Louisville, two grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and several great-great grandchildren, ten step-grandchildren and eight step-great grandchildren, four sisters, Hazel Birch of Sherman, IL, Betty Porter, Patsy Cockrell and Alda Carolyn Cooper all of Louisville.
Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Rev. Ova Greathouse, a son, Phillip Greathouse, two sisters, Kathleen and Mary and four brothers, Walter, Jim, Rudolph and Floyd and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. EDT Wednesday, (July 18, 2012) at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway Louisville, KY. Bro. Randall Deweese will be officiating. Entombment will be in the Evergreen Cemetery.
Friends may call at the Dermitt Funeral Home in Leitchfield from 3:30 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. CDT on Monday, at Owen Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. EDT on Tuesday and from 9:00 a.m. Wednesday until time of services.
