Maria C. (Marcelino) Salgado, 99, of New Bedford died July 15, 2012 at home after a long illness.
She was the wife of the late Costantino C. Salgado.
Born in Fall River, the daughter of the late Joao and Maria (Rezendes) Marcelino, she lived in Fall River most of her life before moving to New Bedford 8 years ago.
She was a member of Jehovah's Witnesses Kingdom Hall in New Bedford.
Survivors include a daughter, Eugenia DaCunha of New Bedford; 4 sisters, Angela Coimbra, Isaura DaSilva and Amelia Catarina, all of Fall River and Natalia Pimentel of Acores; 3 grandchildren, Filomena Stergiotis of New Bedford, Maria Helena Fricke of Hermiston, OR and Lisa Machnik of Dartmouth; 6 great-grandchildren, Joyce Gonsalves, Jennifer Ferreira, Jason DaSilva, Kevin Fricke, Brian Fricke and Jarod Fricke; 12 great-great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-great-grandchildren.
Her Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 21st at 2 PM in The Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witness 100 N Eastern Ave. Fall River. Please omit flowers.
