Richard Sweeney, 55, of Londonderry, formerly of Beverly, MA died peacefully Friday July 13, 2012 at Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, MA, after a very long battle with Multiple Sclerosis.
He was born February 6, 1957 in Beverly, MA, and was a son of Robert and Mary (Blake) Sweeney. He was raised and educated in Beverly and attended Salem State, and Northeastern Universities. Mr. Sweeney had been an Information Technology director, with McLane, Graf and Raulerson, of Manchester, NH, prior to his illness. He had been a resident of Londonderry for the past 28 years.
Mr. Sweeney loved spending time at Lake Winnesquam, and enjoyed golf and waterskiing when he was able to. He will forever be remembered for his love of his family and golden retriever, Brady.
In addition to his parents of Manchester, he is survived by his wife of 31 years, Bonnie (Belanger) Sweeney of Londonderry, two daughters, Kelly Sweeney and her boyfriend Matthew Maher, and Caitlin McCormack and her husband Ryan, one brother, David Sweeney and his wife Pamela, and two nephews, Eric and Casey Sweeney.
After cremation, a visitation and prayer service was held Wednesday July 18, 2012 from 4pm to 8pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. Donations may be made in Richard’s memory to the Merrimack Valley Hospice House, 360 North Road, Haverhill, MA 01830.
