Araujo
New Bedford – Duarte M. Araujo, age 49 years, died Sunday, July 15, 2012 at St. Luke’s Hospital. Mr. Araujo was the beloved father of Jordan Araujo of New Bedford, Tyler Araujo of Fairhaven, Brittany Paige Araujo and Vanessa Jaye Araujo both of Dartmouth, loved brother of Zelia DeMelo of Acushnet, Fatima Araujo and Durval D. Araujo both of New Bedford, Robert F. Araujo and Billy F Araujo both of Dartmouth. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Araujo was a son of Aldora (Calheta) and Francisco Araujo of Dartmouth Ma. He was born in St. Michael, Azores, Portugal and has lived in this area since 1969. Duarte was employed as a Crane Engineer at Dartmouth Building Supply for 26 years.
Mr. Araujo’s funeral will be Wednesday at the Perry Funeral Home, 111 Dartmouth St. at 8 A.M. with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church at 9 A.M. Burial will follow at St. Johns Cemetery. Visiting hours will be Tuesday evening from 5 - 8 P.M. Relatives and friends are invited.
