KALIVAS , Steve, age 96, of Oradell passed away early Friday morning. Born in Epirus, Greece he arrived on Ellis Island in 1933 at the age of 17 when he embraced American Citizenship. Steve, a noted entrepreneur, established 9 New Jersey and New York restaurants and nightclubs. He was mostly noted for his fine hospitality, his compassion, his generosity and his devotion to his family. He is survived by his loving wife, Sophie, and his sons, Alex (with wife, Dorothy) and George (with wife, Thea). He was also a doting grandfather to his 5 grandchildren Jason Kalivas, Nicole Campbell (with husband, Brian), Stephanie Sipala (with husband, Rich), Elissa Kalivas, and Tara Kalivas also his great-grandson, James Campbell. Friends and relatives are invited to visit today (Sunday) from 3:00 PM-7:00 PM at Volk Leber Funeral Home, 268 Kinderkamack Road, Oradell. Funeral service Monday, July 16, 11:00 AM at St. Athanasios Church, 51 Paramus Rd, Paramus. Interment to follow to George Washington Memorial Park, Paramus.
