Thomas C. Kelly of Charlotte, NC, formerly of Quincy, died suddenly at home on July 11, 2012. He was born May 23, 1941, in Boston, Massachusetts, son of John J. and Mary Carmel Kelly.
Tom attended North Quincy High School and Northeastern University in Boston. He received his Masters in Business Administration from Northeastern in 1966. That same year he married Linda Diane Grimm.
Tom first worked for Imperial Chemical Industries in Melbourne, Australia and then for the next 30 years for Owens-Corning Fiberglas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers John and Lawrence Kelly, and his sisters Carmel Tranter and Eileen Aalto. Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Linda, his son Thomas Joseph Kelly, his daughter Lisa Robin Kelly, his brothers Dennis Kelly and his wife, Joanne and Michael Kelly and his wife, Leann, his brother-in-law, Michael Aalto, two sister-in-laws, Judy and Joanne Kelly, and many nieces, nephews, and friends.
Tom never met a stranger. He had a wonderful smile and a happy and outgoing personality which drew other people to him. He was devoted to his family and was always there for them. He loved all sports, especially the Carolina Panthers, The Boston Red Sox and the Patriots. We loved him very much and we will always miss him.
Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend the visiting hours on Wednesday from 4-8 p.m. in the Keohane Funeral Home, 785 Hancock Street, Quincy. A Celebration of Life Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Thursday at 9:15 am prior to the Funeral Mass in Saint Ann’s Church, Quincy at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Blue Hill Cemetery, Braintree.
