Worcester - R. Steven Oliver, 61, died unexpectedly on Thursday, July 12, 2012, after being stricken ill while at work. He leaves his wife, Margie J. (Carlson) Oliver; two daughters, Megan A. Oliver of Somerville and Molly S. Oliver of Worcester; his mother, Lillian Oliver; and his sister, Bonnie Oliver. His father, Robert Oliver, Jr., preceded him in death.
Robert Steven Oliver was born in Worcester in 1951. He was a graduate of Burncoat High School and served in the U.S. Navy. Steve was currently employed by Saint-Gobain as a group leader in manufacturing. He had been with Norton Company/Saint-Gobain for nearly 40 years.
The funeral service will be held at Trinity Lutheran Church, 73 Lancaster Street, Thursday, July 19, at 11 am. Burial of cremated remains will follow in All Faiths Cemetery. Nordgren Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, is directing arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Diabetes Assn., 330 Congress St., Boston MA 02210.
