Drusilla M. ‘Dru’ (Macdonald) Nadeau, age 92 of Salem, passed away peacefully at the Masconomet Healthcare Center in Topsfield on Tuesday, July 10, 2012. She was the wife of the late Roland A. Nadeau.
Born and raised in Lynn, she was the daughter of the late Norman and Ruby (Rolfe) Macdonald. She was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School. Married to Roland in 1946, Dru worked alongside her husband in the 1960’s and ‘70’s in the operation of their Morning Call Coffee Shop in Salem. In later years, she also worked part time for Kennedy’s Butter & Eggs and Harbor Sweets.
Dru was a truly gentlewoman, both in appearance and in personality. Her family meant everything to her and she will be missed by many.
She is survived by a son, Laurence A. Nadeau of East Calais, VT, two daughters, Denise B. Pelletier and her husband Mark R. of Georgetown, Terry Anne Gagnon and her husband Thomas of Ipswich, two grandsons, Elan J. Pelletier of Georgetown and Chase T. Gagnon of Ipswich. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to visiting hours on Saturday, July 14, 2012 at the Levesque Funeral Home, 163 Lafayette St. [Rt. 114 / 1-A] Salem from 9:30 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. to be followed by her funeral service in the funeral home at 11:00 A.M.
