Edwin Kevin Lamport, 57 of Londonderry, NH passed away at his home on Tuesday July 10th 2012 after a hard fought battle with brain cancer.
Born in Concord, MA he was a son of the late Leonard and Eleanor Lamport. He was raised in Townsend MA. Ed earned a bachelor’s degree from Lowell Technical Institute and an MBA from Rivier College. As a CPA, Ed spent his career as a controller and CFO in defense contracting.
Ed’s passions were his family and his hobbies, he enjoyed the simple pleasures of life including working outside and doing home improvement projects. He volunteered as scout leader, recreational sports coach and was a member of various committees through the local schools. He could always be found on the sidelines cheering on his children at their various activities and supporting his wife in her career. Ed also had a love for wood working, the outdoors, and other physical pursuits including biking and mountain climbing. His charisma and fun loving attitude could light up a room. It has been said that anyone who met Ed felt that they had a friend for life.
Ed was predeceased by his parents, he is survived by his wife Mary Lamport of 34 years, his children Christopher Lamport and Holly (Lamport) MacAskill and her husband Ian MacAskill. He is also survived by his siblings Richard Lamport, Sally Morton, Kenneth Lamport, Kathy Donaldson and their families as well as his Mother-in-law Barbara Montville, and her children Donna Donovan, Robin and William Montville.
Calling hours were held on Saturday, July 14, 2012 from 2:00-4:00pm at the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Road, Londonderry. A Funeral service was held at 4:00pm in the funeral hom. Cremation followed.
