FERRELL - Barbara L. Ferrell, 83, of Yulee, FL passed away Wednesday morning, July 11, 2012 at Life Care Center in Hilliard, FL. Mrs. Ferrell was born September 23, 1928 in Miami, FL and moved to Yulee from Lillian, AL two years ago.
She liked to fish and dance. Mrs. Ferrell was a friendly person and had many friends. She was the first woman to be licensed in the United States as a Greyhound trainer.
She was predeceased by her husband, J. M. Ferrell and daughter, Sallie Lockowski.
Survivors include three daughters, Barbara Lamb (Charles) of Yulee, FL, Jesse Fay Hynek (Ronald) of Chicopee, MA and Angela Renee Rich of Atlanta, GA; a brother Franklin Delano Roosevelt Pilgrim of Webster, FL; six grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and best friends, Juanita and Freda.
