Elizabeth Ewart Traynor, 91, of Pembroke passed away peacefully July 9 at Wingate, surrounded by her family. She is survived by her husband Robert, sons James Traynor and his wife Louise of Pembroke, Patrick and his wife Susan of Marshfield, Richard Benson and his wife Diane of Wilton, NY, brother Albert Ewart of Norwell and sister Jeanne Sewall of Bath, ME.
Elizabeth was predeceased by her daughter Jacqueline Shea and son William Traynor.
Betty is also survived by grandchildren David, Susan and Andrew Shea, Robert, Michael and Steve Traynor, Chris Malone, David, Scott and Janine Benson and many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A proud Scot, Betty was born in Greenock, Scotland to parents Albert Ewart and Susan Hamilton Ewart and emigrated to the United States as a young child. She loved to travel and to tell stories of her adventures and of the many friends she met along the way. She was a patient listener, good friend to many and an example of simple grace and a generous spirit.
A funeral service will be held on Monday, July 16th at 11:00 AM at Shepherd Funeral Home, 7 Mattakeesett St. (Rt. 14), Pembroke, followed by private burial at Washington St. Cemetery, Norwell.
