New Bedford – Edviges Amaral, age 83 years died Sunday , July 8, 2012 at Royal Taber Nursing Home. She was the beloved wife of the late David Amaral., Loved mother of Clarisse DaSilva and husband Fernando of Assonet, David Amaral of Mclean, Virginia, and Luisa Amaral of Conway, New Hampshire. She is also survived by siblings Maria Jose Pacheco of Canada, Gloria Carreiro of Dartmouth, Linda Aguiar of New Beford and Joao Antonio Cabral of Fairhaven. Grandchildren Kristen DaSilva Darland and husband Christian of Stamford, Connecticut, Meagan DaSilva of Boston and fiance Christopher Pike, David DaSilva and wife Sarah of Dighton, Peter Amaral and Christina Amaral of Maclean Virginia. Great-grandchildren Jett and Jagger DaSilva and Stella Darland. and several nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Amaral was a daughter of the late Olinda and Manuel Cabral . She was born in Lomba do Batao, Sao Miguel, Açores . She was employed as a seamstress until her retirement.
Mrs. Amaral’s funeral will be Friday with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at St. John the Baptist Church at 10:30A.M. Burial will follow at St. John Cemetery.
