Dorothea M. Grandmaison, 91, of Derry, NH, died Saturday, July 7, 2012, at her niece’s home in Derry. She was born on March 9, 1921 in Derry, NH, the daughter of the late Leo and Ethel (Frasier) Myette. Mrs. Grandmaison was a resident of Derry since 1993, formerly living in Nashua, NH, Hampton, NH and Florida. Dorothea was a graduate of Pinkerton Academy, Derry, Class of 1937. She and her husband Roger ran a rooming house at Hampton Beach called “The Bartlett”. She later was employed in the office for the Internal Revenue Service, Andover, MA until her retirement.
She is survived by one daughter , Lucille Hoag and her husband Ronald of New London, WI, one grandson, Steven Hoag and his wife Angela of Milwaukee, WI, two great grandchildren, Zachary and Haley Hoag, two brothers, Charles Myette of Londonderry, NH and Francis Galvin of Derry. Also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved husband Roger Grandmaison in 1974 and by one brother Ronald Myatt.
There are no calling hours. Following cremation, a graveside service will be held on Saturday July 21, 2012 at 11:00am in the Forest Hill Cemetery, East Derry Road, East Derry, NH. In lieu of flowers, Dorothea requested donations be made in her memory to the Pinkerton Academy Alumni Fund, 5 Pinkerton Drive, Derry, NH 03038 or Compassionate Care Hospice of NH, 25 Nashua Road, Unit E3, Londonderry, NH 03053.
